PASSION & PURPOSE
Brightspace was born out of a life-changing experience for the fouunder, Helen Banks, who had pursued a successful corporate career for many years.
As she physically recovered from severe illness, she recognised she felt less resilient, more anxious and unable to enjoy life to the full. That was when she discovered Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and began to enjoy significant benefits. She was keen that others benefit from these vital skills and techniques.
Helen decided to retrain at Oxford University, the centre of excellence for MBCT, where she also completed further training in Mindfulness in the Workplace. She has since quaified in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T).
Helen is enthusiastic about supporting both individuals and workplace teams to thrive in a healthy, productive manner. Her teaching style is warm and engaging, blending professional training, corporate experience and personal breakthrough.
Helen has held board postions in a number of corporations and has experienced first-hand the pressures of juggling work life, childcare and voluntary commitments.
